Local Scouts earn Marine Corps League Good Citizenship Award

On March 4, the McHenry County Marine Corps League Detachment #1009 presented Good Citizenship Awards to two local Boy Scouts at the McHenry Township Hall in Johnsburg.

These Scouts had achieved years-long aspirations of the Eagle Scout designation through their dedicated work and commitment to the local community.

League members were present to recognize the Eagle Scouts initiatives that were in keeping with the highest Marine Corps traditions.

As a part of their newly recognized designation as Eagle Scouts, Brendon Kaunas and Tyler Colberg were formally presented with the league's Good Citizenship Award.

The two Eagle Scouts were also bestowed with the coveted U.S. Marine Corps "KA-BAR" knife. The KA-BAR knife is the combat and utility knife that was adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps in 1942.
