Set a 'course' for new greens at Schaumburg Golf Club

Take your golf game to the next level with Schaumburg Golf Club's new Players Course.

Opened June 30, the renovated course includes new bunkers with tour white sand and two redesigned holes as well as new bentgrass tees, fairways and greens. Featuring a 9,000 sq. foot practice putting green, the Players Course completes the first phase of Schaumburg Golf Club's three- year enhancement plan.

"Golfers will appreciate the better playing conditions and the two redesigned holes-Players 25 and 26," said Jonathan Parsons, general manager of golf operations. "Players 25 is an elevated par 3 and Players 26 is a brand new par 4."

Also featured are a new set of tees dubbed "Life Tees," designed to enhance the game for all levels of play. New tee colors include black, stone, gray and cedar, with blue for the Life Tees.

"The idea behind the Life Tees is to offer a tee that's more playable," Parsons said. "We're trying to give everyone, from families and beginning golfers to more seasoned golfers an enjoyable experience."

A new grass driving range tee will open at the end of July. As part of the next phase of renovations, the Baer Course will be closed through July 2019. Players will continue to have access to 18 holes throughout the project.
