Local Poms Team Awarded Title of Champions at U.S. Finals

Soul2Sole Dance Inc. (S2S) is proud to celebrate their big win after their AllStar Poms team was awarded the title of champions at the 2018 U.S. Finals at the Sears Center in Illinois. The S2S team, comprised of eight girls from around Chicago's North Shore, from 9 to 13 years old, beat out 35 other teams for the championship.

Entering its third season, S2S AllStar Poms is a high-energy dance team that has received many recognitions since its inception, including a bid to the Universal Dance Association Nationals in Orlando, Florida in 2017 and performing at a Northwestern University football halftime show. "This is such an amazing program that offers students a positive experience that could lead to placement on high school teams," says Debbie Kramer, owner of Soul 2 Sole Dance Inc., which is also celebrating 10 years of teaching dance to children from toddler to teen, throughout the North Shore.

S2S Poms teams success is tailored to the incredible program where members have the opportunity to train alongside a state ranked high school dance team and receive technique training from Universal Dance Association (UDA) members. The S2S Poms team aims to have dancers develop good sportsmanship, teamwork and discipline. All this is taught by Coach Lizzy, a dancer with over eight years of experience in the competitive AllStar and high school dance realm. Lizzy is always looking for new and creative opportunities to help her dancers advance.

"A main goal of the AllStar Pom program is to prepare dancers for higher level teams such as Jr High and High school," says Coach Lizzy Petruzzi. "I try to find different performance opportunities for the team throughout the season. One of my goals for the program is to give them as many training, performance, and competitive opportunities as possible while providing a fun and energetic program."

The program is open to girls 6-14 years old as long as they are still in the 8th grade. New this year is a minis program specifically for dancers 6-9 years old. Within all programs, dancers will learn correct jumps, kicks, turns, kicks and cheer arm execution. Dancers will also work on flexibility, synchronization and dance routines all in the hopes to better their chances of making a high school Poms/cheer team. The AllStar program consists of girls mostly from Highland Park but spread across Buffalo Grove, Northfield, Lake Villa and even as far as Aurora.

AllStar Poms 2018/2019 team auditions will be offered in August. For more information email Coach Lizzy at lizzypsoul2sole@gmail.com, call 847-579-4660, or visit http://soul2soledance.com. Soul2Sole Dance Inc. is located 799 Central Ave in Downtown Highland Park.
