South Elgin Police Department holds Coffee With A Cop at McDonald's

On Wednesday, June 20, the South Elgin Police Department held a "Coffee with A Cop" event at the McDonald's located at 453 Redington Road in South Elgin.

This event was held to encourage community members to come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink some delicious McDonald's McCafé Coffee.

"Coffee With a Cop" provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the department's work in the South Elgin neighborhoods as well as have a chance to get to know the police officers on a more personal level.

Six police officers from the department attended this event, which included Deputy Chief Endean, Officers James Creighton, Brett Czechowski, Hunt, Theodore Floros and Andrew Nelson. Also, attending the event were the two newest recruitment officers, LaRi Mitchell and Derek Skinner, will begin their 15-week Academy Training on Monday, June 25.

All community members in attendance enjoyed conversation and laughs with the South Elgin police officers.

The officers brought several handouts for the community that included emergency phone numbers, animal control information, home safety tips, mosquitoes information and many fun handouts for the children which included flashlights, pens, policeman shaped ice/hot packs, chip clips and police badge stickers.
