Eid celebration at Wheaton fairgrounds

An Eid celebration event is planned for Sunday, June 24, at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 Manchester Road, Wheaton.

Eid is the most important religious and cultural festival of the Muslim community. It is free and open to all faiths and groups. The gala is held after the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

The daylong EidFest will run from noon to 9 p.m.

In addition to numerous ethnic food stalls, there will be booths for free health screenings, vendors selling cultural attires, as well as artifacts, immigration advisory counseling, voter registration, activities for kids and more.

Folkloric entertainment programs also will be part of the festival.
