Seven gardens and quilts to be featured at 'Stitches & Thyme' garden walk June 23

The Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners will hold its biennial garden walk from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 23. It will be held rain or shine.

Entitled "Stitches & Thyme," the garden walk features six beautiful gardens cultivated by the homeowners and new and heirloom quilts created by local artisans.

A seventh garden, the Wildflower Sanctuary, is the garden club's native wildflower restoration project on the Batavia Riverwalk where hourly tours will be available.

Local restaurants are offering specials the day of the walk for those with tickets to the event. Come share in the day.

Enjoy the creative beauty provided by the gardeners and quilters, the tasty cuisine created by local chefs, and discover the beauty of native wildflowers in five settings along the Batavia Riverwalk.

Tickets can be purchased at the Batavia Park District office or the Mobil Station on Route 31 in downtown Batavia or online at bpdgclub.blogspot.com for $15 prior to the garden walk or $20 at one of the residential gardens at 126 N. Prairie St. on the day of the walk.
