Symphony concerts return to Cantigny

Symphony concerts return to Cantigny Park in Wheaton this month after a two-year hiatus. Tickets are on sale for June and July performances at 1S151 Winfield Road:

• DuPage Symphony Orchestra performs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23. Join the DSO and Director Barbara Schubert for "Spanish Soundscape," featuring Spanish, French and Russian composers of the 19th century.

• West Suburban Symphony Orchestra performs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 14. Join Maestro Peter Lipari and the West Suburban Symphony for "Heartland," a musical tour of America. Enjoy John Williams' music from the 2012 movie "Lincoln" in celebration of the Illinois Bicentennial, selections from Aaron Copland's Rodeo ballet, and medleys of American songs.

A Symphony Passport (non-paper ticket) is required for each concert. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 the week of show; Cantigny Park members pay $25. A Passport admits one car and passengers, up to four people total. Passports may be purchased at Cantigny.org, in the Cantigny Shop or by calling (630) 260-8162.

Picnics are encouraged for these "Ravinia-style" events, performed on the plaza outside the First Division Museum. Gates open at 6 p.m.
