Fox River Valley DAR welcomes 13 new members at annual meeting

On Saturday, June 9, the Fox River Valley Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution held its annual meeting.

The chapter was honored to welcome 13 new members as well as installation of new chapter officers.

The annual program recognizes local students for their outstanding accomplishments.

The chapter hosts free genealogical workshops for prospective members to find and prove their lineage to a Revolutionary War patriot and assist with new member applications. The chapter also hosts the DAR Good Citizens Program and Scholarship Contest, which are intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The students selected as the school's DAR Good Citizen must have the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism to an outstanding degree.
