St. John's School-Elgin celebrates 2018 graduates

The eighth-grade class of St. John's Lutheran School in Elgin celebrated their graduation with a special ceremony and banquet on Thursday, May 31.

Valedictorian Lilah Hanson and salutatorians Kayla Trenery and Maggie McGough spoke about shared experiences and their wishes for the future.

Afterward, they were joined by families and friends for a banquet.

It was an emotional time - some students in this tight knit group joined the school recently, but some students have been together for 11 years.

The school at 109 N. Spring St. has been providing a high quality, fully accredited, Christian education for over 150 years to children in preschool through eighth grade.
