McHenry County College to offer fun summer classes

Learn a new a new hobby or skill with McHenry County College's new continuing education classes, including making a one-of-a-kind pendant, cooking and Salsa dancing.

These classes begin soon:
PEACES Interchangeable Pendant:
Make your own one-of-a-kind, interchangeable pendant featuring a medallion with a ¾-inch diameter. Bring your own small-scale artwork, photo, dried flower, leaf, feather and fabric to use in your pendant. The instructor also will bring some items for use. All other supplies are included in the course fee. Class takes place from 6:30 to 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, in Room A103. Use course code NCF S81 001 to register. Another class is offered from 6:30 to 7:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, in Room A103. Use course code NCF S81 002 to register. Cost for either class is $49.
Lunch with Dad (Uncle or Grandpa):
Spend a great time in the kitchen with your favorite young person and share the fun of preparing and enjoying a homemade meal together featuring a salad, pizza including the dough and fresh-baked cookies. An ideal opportunity for dads, uncles, or grandfathers to create a delicious meal and make some fun memories. Course fee covers one adult and one child, age five and up. Only the adult needs to register. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and long hair must be pulled up and back. All supplies are included in the course. Class takes place from 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. Saturday, June 16, in Room B179, MCC's culinary lab. Use course code NCU S50 001 to register. Cost is $25. Sign up quickly - spaces are limited.
Salsa Dance Class for Couples or Singles:
Come have fun learning the steps of the Latin dance of Salsa. This is an upbeat, high energy class designed for the beginning dancer. The focus will be on footwork and partnering techniques, including basic patterns of the dance and some new sizzling Salsa moves every week. Students will rotate partners throughout class, which enables each student the opportunity to practice their leading and/or following skills. Class takes place from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, June 23 through July 30, in Room B257. Cost per couple is $179; use course code NSD S23 002 to register. Cost per single is $95; use course code NSD S23 001 to register. Swing dance classes also are available.
