Green Drinks to explore 'Responsible Investing' June 6

Scott Mackey, vice president and Responsible Investment Strategy Specialist at Calvert Research & Management, will speak at the next McHenry County Green Drinks meeting. It will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Duke's Alehouse & Kitchen, 110 N. Main St. in Crystal Lake.

Environmental social-governance investing involves investing in companies that provide positive leadership in areas that are material to improving societal outcomes. Some areas of impact include: climate change, sustainability, diversity, human rights and corporate governance. When dealing with investments, it is impossible to predict the financial markets, however, you can determine the causes that your investments are contributing to.

Mary Jane Maniscalli and Jennifer Leong of Wells Fargo Advisors also will be on hand to help you learn more about how you can invest in the causes that you value the most and the types of investment vehicles that can help you do so.

On the first Wednesday of each month, the public is invited to gather for a talk on an environmental/conservation issue and to network with other sustainably minded people and professionals.

Additional parking is available at the train station. Visit www.greendrinks.org.
