Get set for summer with free AMITA Health Screenings

Be ready for an active summer by taking advantage of free health screenings at Schaumburg Park District locations.

Free screenings are offered most Wednesdays in June through a partnership between the District and AMITA Health. During the screenings, an AMITA Health nurse will check blood pressure, perform body fat/body analysis and assess stroke risk.

"Summer can be a busy time with a lot of outdoor activity and it's also an ideal time to evaluate health and wellness," said Charissa Tischhauser, fitness supervisor for the District. "We're fortunate to be able to partner with AMITA on these services and make these screenings available to our patrons and to the community."

Osteoporosis screenings also are available. Appointments are recommended. Registration is available at amitahealth.org/OsteoporosisScreening.

June screenings include:

• 8-11 a.m., June 6, Community Recreation Center/Water Works lobby, 505 N. Springinsguth Road (Osteoporosis screening)

• 8-11 a.m., June 13, Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way

• 4-7 p.m., June 20, Schaumburg Tennis Plus, 1416 N. Payne Road
