Lake Forest College student of Naperville wins award

Rebecca Hernandez, class of 2018, of Naperville was awarded the McPherson Prize for excellence in scholarship for Spanish. Established in 1899, the McPherson Prizes are the College's oldest awards. A double major in Spanish and education, Hernandez earned a spot on the Dean's List three years in a row and was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She plans to pursue a master's of art in teaching at Lake Forest College, with the goal of teaching a Spanish bilingual or dual-language elementary school classroom. Lake Forest College is a national liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The College has more than 1,500 students representing 44 states and 72 countries.
