Geneva Unit District 304 receives 7th consecutive meritorious budget award

The Association of School Business Officials International has awarded Geneva Unit District 304 its Meritorious Budget Award for excellence in budget presentation.

This is the seventh time the school district has received this award.

To earn this award, the district submitted its 2017-18 budget for a rigorous review based on stringent criteria.

The award is conferred only to school entities that have met or exceeded the Meritorious Budget Award criteria.

"This is a significant achievement for the district that demonstrates the excellent work of our business services staff," said Superintendent Dr. Kent Mutchler. "We put great value in providing our community with a quality school budget, and this award underscores that tradition of excellence for which Geneva 304 is known."

Receipt of this award represents "a true reflection of the district's commitment to fiscal integrity," according to the Association of School Business Officials.

Developed by the Association of School Business Officials for school districts, the MBA criteria guide school business officials toward a quality school budget presentation by enhancing the school business officials' skills in developing, analyzing, and presenting a school system budget.
