Guides to take you on tour of Cuba Marsh May 19

The Barrington Greenway Initiative will sponsor a spring hike from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, at Cuba Marsh.

All ages and levels of experience are welcome on the hike, which is part of Barrington Greenway Initiative's Explore and Restore series. Hike alongside experienced volunteer stewards and staff from Citizens for Conservation, Audubon Great Lakes, Friends of the Forest Preserves, Forest Preserves of Cook County and Lake County Forest Preserves.

Meet in the main parking lot at the Cuba Marsh Forest Preserve at 24205 W. Cuba Road, Deer Park.

The Barrington Greenway Initiative is a long-term plan, created and led by Citizens for Conservation, to expand and link fragmented natural habitats, increase biodiversity and advance ecosystems in the greater Barrington community from approximately Poplar Creek north to Roberts Road. This partnership between Citizens for Conservation and other conservation groups and volunteers will link more than 14,000 acres of prairies, wetlands and forest preserves for conservation success and benefits to area residents.
