Yingling Announces Annual Document Shredding, Drug Take Back Event in Grayslake

ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. - Back by popular demand, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is excited to announce that he is partnering with the Grayslake-Hainesville Police Department to host his annual document shredding and prescription drug turn in event on Saturday, June 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grayslake North High School, located at 1925 N. Illinois 83 in Grayslake.

"Hosting free events like my community shred day is one of the many ways that my office can provide services to local residents," Yingling said. "I hope that residents will utilize this opportunity to turn in any unused or expired prescription drugs for safe disposal, and protect themselves from the serious crime of identity theft by shredding documents that contain sensitive information."

The free event gives residents the opportunity to safely dispose of any documents that contain personal information, or any unwanted prescription drugs. Many residents unknowingly throw away documents that contain personal information such as bank statements, medical documents, credit card statements or old bills. Shredding these documents ensures that the personal information is destroyed. Residents must remove all staples and paperclips before arriving, and each car is limited to two bags or small boxes. The event will run until 1 p.m. or until the shredding truck reaches capacity. Participants will not be able to dispose of bags or boxes.

"This event is one of the many ways in which I work with a wide array of community partners and local organizations to better serve our area," Yingling said. "The Grayslake-Hainesville Police Department and other local law enforcement groups, provide invaluable services to our area, and I am grateful to have them on hand to assist in safely removing old, unwanted medicine and documents."

Yingling represents the 62nd District, which includes portions of Gages Lake, Grayslake, Hainesville, Ingleside the Round Lake Communities, Wauconda, and Wildwood. For more information please contact Rep. Yingling's full time constituent office at (847) 231-6262 or repsamyingling@gmail.com.
