Take a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright farmhouse May 20

On Sunday, May 20, the Central 301 Music Boosters invite the community to tour Frank Lloyd Wright's Muirhead Farmhouse, 42W814 Rohrsen Road in Hampshire. Tours will be offered from 1 to 5 p.m. Cost is $25 per person.

Did you know that Frank Lloyd Wright designed Muirhead Farmhouse and it is the only farmhouse designed and built during Wright's lifetime?

It is surrounded by nearly 800 acres of restored tall grass prairie. The interior offers numerous built-ins, fireplaces and window walls that usher in light and offer panoramic views.

The Illinois Historic Preservation Agency has confirmed that the Muirhead Farmhouse has been granted listing on the U.S. Register of Historic Places.

For more information and to purchase tickets go to 301music.org/Muirhead.

The Muirhead family generously donates all proceeds to the Burlington Central Unit District 301 Music Boosters program.

The Boosters in turn financially support and encourages the music teachers and students. Raised funds have purchased new band chairs for students, risers for chorus students and a new piano, to name a few things.

The Music Boosters are proud to invite the community and Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiasts to experience this little-known piece of history.

In addition, there will be entertainment provided by music students from Burlington Central schools and refreshments available for purchase.
