CLC names Kurt Peterson, Ph.D., as executive director of college Foundation

The College of Lake County has named Kurt Peterson, Ph.D.,as executive director of the CLC Foundation.

Peterson, who started May 7, has 20 years of experience in higher education, including the past six years at Loyola University Chicago. Most recently, he was assistant vice president, principal gifts, in the office of advancement, where he developed and implemented programs that solicited gifts of $1 million or more. He also served as director of development for the university's College of Arts and Sciences, where he was responsible for all development goals. They included alumni relations, annual giving, advancement communications, corporate and foundation relations, donor relations, planned giving and major gifts.

"I'm thrilled and honored to join the CLC community," Peterson said. "With the renovation and expansion either completed or in the works at all three campuses, this is truly an exciting time. I look forward to building relationships and support for the college, which impacts so many lives here in Lake County."

Peterson earned a Ph.D. in history from the University of Notre Dame, an M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Mass. and B.A. degrees in history and philosophy from Wheaton College. His professional memberships include the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Chicago Council on Planned Giving.
