'Best Shot' contest focuses on local amateur photographers

Ready, aim, shoot - a picture that is! If your camera skills exceed the occasional selfie and you enjoy spending time at all the beautiful park district facilities and parks, this contest is perfect for you!

Cary Park District's annual "Best Shot" amateur photo contest is open to all photographers of all ages.

Two divisions, youth (up to age 17) and adult (18 and older), are available for entry.

Any photos taken at a Cary Park District park, facility or during a park district recreational program or event are eligible for entry.

It's the perfect opportunity to take out your digital camera, brush off the lens and spend the day exploring and photographing the many parks, paths and trails the park district offers.

Consider nature photos, landscapes, athletic action shots, or playful photos at a playground with your children. There are so many possibilities to choose from.

Capture your creative abilities in a snapshot and submit it to the park district by 10 p.m. Monday, June 18.

All photos entered will be displayed at the Community Center and the website through the month of July for public voting.

Winners in each division will receive the "People's Choice Award" and their photos will be framed and displayed for one year in the park district's Community Center.

Visit www.carypark.com for complete rules and entry form. Give us your "Best Shot" and good luck!
