Stone Hill Farm to hold perennial sale and Healing Garden this weekend

Stone Hill Farm in St. Charles will host its annual perennial sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12. There will be a variety of perennials for sun and shade, selling for $4 a "clump." The proceeds are used to help with the upkeep of the gardens.

The gardens are a two-acre expanse of woodland and perennial gardens on Stone Hill Farm, off Dean Street.

It is cultivated and hosted by Deborah Marqui, owner of Stone Hill Farm with her husband, Buzz Marqui.

The gardens are open to the public on set dates for the purpose of enjoying the natural wooded setting and perennial gardens. People are welcome to read, nap, draw, meditate, journal, swing or simply do nothing. The gardens are open to the public on the second Sunday of each month from April through October. This Mother's Day, the Healing Gardens will be open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 13. Admission is $5 or $10 per family; cancer survivors are free. An optional outdoor "Yoga in the Garden" class, taught by Nancy May, will be offered from 1 to 2 p.m. Register at www.yogafromtheheart.org or call (815) 319-3500. Donations of time or money for the garden's upkeep are appreciated. Groups are welcome to schedule and reserve special days to visit the gardens all year round.
