St. Charles Kiwanis awards grants for May

The St. Charles Kiwanis Club awarded three grants at its May 1 meeting. Club members and grant recipients gathered afterwards.

Hester Bury represented the Northern Illinois Food Bank; Lanie Munzinger, the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association; and Gayle Deja-Schultz, Fox Valley Hands of Hope.

Each organization helps local children and families in need. The Northern Illinois Food Bank and Western DuPage Special Recreation Association each were awarded $1,000, and Fox Valley Hands of Hope was awarded $1,500.

The St. Charles Kiwanis Club meets at noon Tuesdays at the Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Cedar Ave. in St. Charles. Service-minded individuals are invited to attend for fellowship and fun. Kiwanis is a global organization serving the children of the world.
