Registration open for Battle of the Bands competition

If you think your band has what it takes to battle all the way to state, find out. Teen bands begin their journey to the Illinois State Battle of the Bands finals competition at Cary Park District's local competition in June.

If your band is interested in competing, registration forms are available online at www.carypark.com. Information packets with entry form and rules also are available at the Community Center, 255 Briargate Road, Cary.

Spots are limited. Interested bands must submit their completed entry form by Wednesday, June 6.

Bands will be selected in the order that the completed registration forms are received.

Cary Park District's local competition attracts the best of local teen rock bands to the stage for an afternoon of rock-n-roll at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the Lions Park band shell.

Several bands are expected to perform for the music filled competition.

The winning band will be featured at the Thursday, July 19 concert in the park and also joins the battle in the regional competition for a chance to advance to the state finals.
