Join Barrington chamber's fashion show, scholarship luncheon

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Fashion Show and Scholarship Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at The Garlands of Barrington, 1000 Garlands Lane, in Barrington.

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce Fashion Show and Scholarship Luncheon includes a spring fashion show featuring local retailers and an awards ceremony announcing the recipients of the Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship.

Tickets to the event are $45 per person or $350 for a reserved table of eight. Tickets can be purchased online at www.BarringtonChamber.com.

The event begins at 11:30 a.m. with registration and cash bar, followed by the luncheon at noon, a fashion show at 12:30 p.m., award presentation at 1 p.m. and concluding with raffle prizes.

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship is named after a former employee of the chamber, Lauren Brown, who passed away at a young age of ovarian cancer. It is awarded to Barrington area senior high school students who plan to attend a college, university or technical school following graduation.

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce awards several scholarships each year ranging from $500 to $1,000.

Sponsorship opportunities to promote a business at the fashion show and scholarship luncheon, or inside the special gift bag given to all attendees, are still available.
