Historic Schweikher House Lecture Series Continues on May 12

The Schweikher House Preservation Trust invites the public to attend "Conversations in the Studio" - a monthly lecture series that focuses on the trust's mission to connect Schaumburg residents with the historic Schweikher House through topics covering art, architecture and science.

The third Conversations in the Studio program will feature Adam D. Gibbons at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 12. He will be discussing historic architecture in the form of stone structures located in the Fox Valley area. Gibbons is a graduate of Northwestern University (Bachelor of Arts, History) and Wake Forest University (Master of Arts, History) and has been a genealogist for nearly 30 years.

Tickets are $5 and RSVP is required. The event will run approximately one hour and will include a question and answer period. Contact Todd Wenger at (847) 923-3866 or Kim Bauer at events@schweikherhouse.org for more information and to RSVP.

The Schweikher House was constructed in 1938 as Modernist architect Paul Schweikher's home and studio. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the top 150 architectural sites in Illinois.
