Anderson Animal Shelter to hold Mega Adoption event in North Aurora

Find the cat, dog, kitten or puppy of your dreams at Anderson Animal Shelter's first Mega Adoption Event in 2018.

Save a life and expand your four-legged family - just in time for summer.

The adoption event will feature more than 60 spay/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped animals - dogs, cats, puppies, and kitten.

It will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at its North Aurora Adoption Center, on Randall Road, next to Pet Supplies Plus.

"Thanks to our partnership with Pets Supplies Plus, we have been able to save an additional 953 lives so far, since the adoption center's opening in February of last year. On May 12, we're looking to increase that number and expect to have more than 60 pets up for adoption and available to go home the very same day," said Beth-Drake Foster, chief executive officer for Anderson Animal Shelter, "Our goal is to have all 60 animals in their new homes by the end of the weekend."

This special event is made possible through a partnership with Pet Supplies Plus.

Approximately 30 dogs and cats are routinely housed at the North Aurora Adoption Center which is open 7 days a week. All animals are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped.

Each adoption comes with a free vet exam from a participating clinic and one month of free pet health insurance.
