Free document-shredding event helps protect identities and environment

Bradish Associates, at 215 N. Arlington Heights Road, in Arlington Heights, will host its annual Document Shredding Day, a free shredding event on Saturday, May 19, from 9 to 11 am. Shredding will take place in the parking lot. Enter from Eastman Avenue.

Last year 16.7 million people were affected by identity theft in the United States, according to the latest data collected and reported by Javelin Strategy & Research. Document shredding is one important strategy to reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim of identity theft. As a community service, Bradish Associates will once again offer a free Document Shredding Day, open to the entire Arlington Heights community.

"Providing a free document-shredding and recycling event is one way we can help people protect themselves from identity theft and at the same time help the environment," said Jordan Bradish, a lead agent at Bradish.
