District 54 appoints new Dooley principal, Keller assistant principal and director of digital learning

The District 54 School Board made three appointments at its meeting on April 19 for positions in the 2018-19 school year.

Holly Schlicher - Dooley Principal

Holly Schlicher will become the new principal at Dooley Elementary School in Schaumburg, replacing Beth Erbach who will be the principal at Lakeview Elementary School. Current Lakeview principal Laura Rosenblum will move to the principal position at Hoover Math and Science Academy.

Schlicher has been the assistant principal at Hale and Stevenson elementary school since 2015. She was originally hired as a first-grade teacher at Nerge Elementary School in Roselle in 2007. She has also taught first and second grade at Einstein Elementary School in Hanover Park and worked as a literacy instructional coach in District 54.

"I have spent my entire career as an educator here, and I have been continuously amazed at our Board of Education's commitment to ensuring the success of all our students, the talent and dedication of our staff, and the support of our families," Schlicher said. "I am excited to begin working with the students, staff, and parents and to see firsthand all of the things that make Dooley such a wonderful place to work and learn. I am grateful to the Dooley community for welcoming me and for giving me the opportunity to serve as their principal."

Schlicher has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from University of Iowa, a master's degree in interdisciplinary studies in curriculum and instruction from National Louis University, and an educational specialist degree in administration and supervision from National Louis University.

Nate Molby - Keller Assistant Principal

Nate Molby will become the new assistant principal at Keller Junior High School in Schaumburg. Molby has been an assistant principal at Westchester Middle School since 2015. He has also worked as assistant to the principal at NCYAA Regional Safe School in Des Plaines and has taught middle and high school social studies.

"I'm thrilled to join the District 54 faculty and staff," Molby said. "I look forward to meeting the students and families of Keller Junior High and growing as part of the community."

Molby has a bachelor's degree in history from Cedarville University, a master's degree in teaching from Trinity International University and a master's degree in school improvement leadership from Olivet Nazarene University.

Habib Behrouzi - Director of Digital Learning

Habib Behrouzi will become the director of digital learning for District 54. Behrouzi is currently the digital learning coordinator for District 54, supporting staff members in their use of technology for instruction.

He was originally hired by District 54 in 2005 as an instructional assistant at Frost Junior High School, where he subsequently served as a learning resource assistant and as an art/media teacher. He also worked as an instructional coach for technology for District 54 from 2015 to 2017.

"I am humbled by the School District 54 community and staff members who are entrusting me with this new role," Behrouzi said. "Our district's commitment to enriching our students' lives makes me very proud to work here. I am excited to contribute to the ongoing success of our students and look forward to helping fulfill our district promise."

Behrouzi has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Northeastern Illinois University and a master's degree in school leadership from Concordia University.

These appointments take effect July 1, 2018.
