Deanne Mazzochi named College of DuPage Board chairman for third consecutive year

College of DuPage Board Chairman Deanne Mazzochi was elected for the third consecutive year to serve as chairman of the board of trustees at the annual board of trustees organizational meeting held April 19, 2018.

"It's always a very humbling experience when fellow board members reaffirm confidence in the direction we have all committed to in furtherance of our mission at the college. I share that confidence and leadership with our board. With every new term we recognize we have greater opportunities to build upon. Taking a brief time to reflect, I'm proud of our board members for all of their hard work and determination from the time we started working together to today," she said. "Our entire college community has met challenges and goals collectively, which has put us in the fortunate position we have worked toward and achieved together. We are all now empowered to achieve even more going forward, daring to pursue even greater dreams on the solid foundation built by a dedicated board, administration, faculty, student body and the generous community that supports this incredible institution."

Chairman Mazzochi was elected to the board for a six-year term in April 2015 and served as vice chairman before being named acting chairman in December of that year.

On April 21, 2016, Mazzochi was elected for her first full-year term as chairman of the board of trustees.

An Elmhurst resident, Mazzochi is an attorney and founding member of Rakoczy, Molino, Mazzochi, Siwik L.L.P., a full-service litigation and intellectual property firm in Chicago. Chairman Mazzochi grew up in Villa Park and graduated from Willowbrook High School. A former College of DuPage student, Chairman Mazzochi holds bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Political Science from Boston University and a J.D. from George Washington University Law School.

In addition, Trustee Frank Napolitano was appointed to a second consecutive one-year term as board vice chairman and trustee Christine Fenne was elected to a second term as board secretary.

The next regular board of trustees meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 10, in the Student Services Center (SSC), Room 2200, at 7 p.m. To view a video from the April 19 Organizational Board Meeting, visit www.cod.edu.
