COD to offer new 'Valuing Culture, Family and Education' Student Cohort Fall 2018

The College of DuPage is offering a new cohort experience "Valuing Culture, Family and Education" beginning fall 2018.

"This cohort experience will help students build a college family," said Latino Outreach Center Manager Saraliz Jimenez. "Students will get to know one another as they navigate the college experience together, offering an invaluable source of support on campus. In addition, the faculty will work closely with students in an effort to tailor resources that link their classes together."

Aimed primarily at incoming freshmen, this cohort combines two general education required courses with a college success skills class and is designed to help students better understand how our biology, the people around us and our culture help influence who we are and who we become.

To participate in this cohort, students must co-enroll in Cultural Anthropology (ANTHR-1100-COH01), College Success Skills (EDUCA-1115-COH01) and General Psychology (PSYCH-1100-COH01).

For more information and to receive a permit to register, contact Saraliz Jimenez at jimene@cod.edu or (630) 942-3039.

College of DuPage is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

Serving approximately 26,000 students each term, it is the largest public community college in the state of Illinois. The college grants nine associate degrees and offers more than 170 career and technical certificates in over 50 areas of study.
