Local employers invited to ECC Communication Design department's student portfolio exhibition April 25

Elgin Community College's Communication Design department will host a portfolio exhibition for students graduating in May to display their work.

Area employers looking to hire graphic designers and videographers are welcomed to attend a preview of the exhibition and speak to students about potential job opportunities.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, with a special employers-only preview from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Spartan Terrace Restaurant, located in Building I of 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

Light refreshments will be served.

ECC's Communication Design program encompasses three visual disciplines: graphic design, internet design or videography and motion graphics.

Students experience hands-on-learning in small classes from exceptional, industry-seasoned faculty in state-of-the-art labs.

Topics covered include principles of design, foundational techniques, conceptual visualization, color theory, digital design, videography, web design, image design, typography and more.

Students graduate from the program with a deep knowledge of design, practical skills and technique and a unique design style.
