Australian author visits District 15 students

Popular Australian-based children's book author Aaron Blabey entertained a throng of students last Thursday at Palatine Township Elementary District 15.

District 15 officials said Blabey doesn't visit many schools in the United States. He typically only will go to a U.S. school if there is a large enough crowd.

At least 1,000 students from District 15 gathered for Blabey's appearance at John G. Conyers Learning Academy in Rolling Meadows. Officials said students from four district schools went to Conyers Learning Academy to see Blabey.

Blabey is known for beloved, best-selling children's books including the series "The Bad Guys" and "Pig the Pug." He has about 3 million books in print in different languages in about 30 countries, according to his publisher, Penguin Books Australia.
