Volunteers Needed for Memorial Day Essence of Freedom Run

Honor our troops and support the true meaning of Memorial Day by volunteering for The Essence of Freedom Run, Monday, May 28 in Deerfield, Ill.

The Essence of Freedom Run, which winds through the streets of northeast Deerfield, Ill, raises funds desperately needed by the brave men and women both active duty and veterans, who defend our country in the armed forces. Proceeds provide financial assistance for expenses not covered by military benefits. The run is the signature fundraising event for Support Our Soldiers Freedom, Inc. a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Volunteers are needed to direct traffic, give water to runners and cheer them on as they make their way towards the finish line. Volunteer hours are 7:30 a.m. to approximately 11 a.m. The early ending allows volunteers and runners to support our troops and enjoy the holiday with their family and friends.

The Essence of Freedom Run is celebrating its 5th anniversary in 2018. Essence Pilates is the event's Four Star General Sponsor. Fleet Feet Sports is the Bronze Star Sponsor. Purple Heart Sponsors include American Legion Post 738 (Deerfield, Ill.), Aaron Michael Photography, Assurance Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc., B. Robert Gassman & Associates, Howard Productions and WEINGER SPECTOR FOUNDATION.
