Elgin church to host 45th annual Strawberry Festival May 5

All are welcome to the 45th annual Strawberry Festival at Bethlehem Lutheran Church where the theme of the day is everything strawberry!

The event will be held rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the church, 340 Grand Blvd., across from Lords Park on Elgin's east side.

You can enjoy freshly made strawberry shortcake, chocolate covered strawberries, purchase strawberry jam and an assortment of goodies from the bakery. There is a flea market where you may just find a real treasure and there is a room just for jewelry. There is the Strawberry Patch with one of a kind works of art and great themed baskets. There are crafts, a new and gently read "Book Booth," and plants for your spring garden. There is something for everyone!

The net proceeds will go to the following seven agencies: Bethlehem Lutheran Child Development Center, Ecker Center for Mental Health, Hamilton Wings, Sherry Liske - Mission Trip, Open Door Clinic, PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter), and YWCA Elgin.

The cost for shortcake with beverage is $6.

For details, call the church office at (847) 741-8434 or blcelgin.org.
