Vernon Hills HS FBLA State Finalists Advance to National

Future Business Leaders of America members and advisers from Vernon Hills High School attended the Sixty-ninth Illinois Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference at the Crowne Plaza, Springfield, Illinois, on Friday and Saturday, April 6-7. Over 1,400 members, advisers, and guests from over 66 Illinois FBLA chapters were registered for the conference. The two-day state conference, with "Elevate Your Future" as the theme, included activities in personal development, business and leadership training, election of 2018-2019 state officers, and many competitive events.

VHHS had 79 competitors in 46 different events. VHHS had 31 national qualifiers (** denotes national qualifier). VHHS was recognized for being the 5th largest chapter in the State of Illinois with 112 members for the 2017-18 school year. Lynne Benson was recognized for her first year as a chapter adviser. Diane Phillips was recognized for her fifth year as a chapter adviser and for her upcoming retirement.
