Watch an exhibition in the making at Side Street's 'Install' April 13

On Friday, April 13, seven artists will take over the gallery for "Install: An Exhibition in the Making and Made" at Side Street Studio Arts, 15 Ziegler Court in downtown Elgin.

Each artist has been assigned an area to create and exhibit within, from the basement to the AV closet, these amazing artists will turn our space into theirs.

The only rule: consider the space in the creation.

Angie Gonzalez, Michelle Graves, Karl Jahnke, Rachel Elizabeth Maley, Tanner Melvin, Ken Simonsen, and Lindsey Wiseman will gain access to their spaces starting Sunday, April 1.

Their creative and installation processes will be open to the public for viewing during gallery hours through Friday, April 13, when works will be finished.

An artist reception and performance will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 13. There is a $5 suggested donation.

All works will be available for viewing during gallery hours through April 29.

Gallery hours are noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays to Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.

This project is supported in part by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
