Lane closures on Main Street in St. Charles to begin April 11

The City of St. Charles is conducting concrete curb and infrastructure repairs on Route 64/Main Street, between Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street.

Work is scheduled to begin April 11 and is expected to continue through April 27, weather permitting.

During the construction, the outside traffic lane will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to ensure a safe work zone. Work will be completed on both the north and south sides of the street.

Please follow all traffic control signs and expect delays when driving through this area. You may want to take an alternate route.

Throughout the construction, brick work that sits just behind the curb where repairs are made will be disturbed. These areas also will be repaired once the concrete work is completed.

Geneva Construction of Aurora, Ill., is the contractor for the project.

Thank you for your patience while the work is completed. For more information, contact the public works department at (630) 377-4405 or pw@stcharlesil.gov.
