Writers Welcome to Enter Synopsis Contest

Writers of all genres are welcome to enter "Synopalooza," the one-page synopsis contest sponsored by the American Christian Fiction Writers - Chicago Chapter. Contest entrants do not need to be members of the organization. The deadline for "Synopalooza" is Sunday, April 15. The entry fee is $15. Winners will be announced Friday, June 8, with final round judging done by Rowena Kuo, CEO and executive editor of Brimstone Fiction; Ali Herring, assistant literary agent with Spencerhill Associates; and Jan Stop, associate director of fiction for Tynedale House Publishers.

Those who enter will receive expert feedback from editors and published authors, and a chance to win one of three prizes. The critiques in all of the prize levels will be done by Literary Agent Julie Gwinn of The Seymour Agency. The first prize winner will receive a $50 Visa gift card and a critique of his or her full synopsis and first five-chapters. The second prize is a critique of the winner's full synopsis and first chapter; while the third prize is a critique of the full synopsis and first five pages.
