Teen dodgeball tourney to help fund parks scholarships

The Naperville Park District Youth Ambassadors' all-city Dodgeball Tournament will pit teams of high school students in a daylong battle that will help lower-income residents take part in park district programs.

The tournament begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 15, at Fort Hill Activity Center, 20 Fort Hill Drive. Teams from all five Naperville high schools are invited to compete for the title of 2018 Dodgeball Champion.

Teams must register by 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 11. Team packets are available at Fort Hill Activity Center, or by emailing Fred Gusel at fgusel@napervilleparks.org to request one.

Teams may have six to eight members and must include at least two female participants. Team fees are $30 and concessions will be available.

Proceeds will benefit the park district's scholarship program.

The Youth Ambassadors is a group of high school students who work with the district to plan communitywide events for teens.

The next Youth Ambassadors event is the Battle of the Bands, scheduled for Friday, May 11.
