2018 Best Buddies Friendship Walk at Brookfield Zoo on May 5th

CHICAGO - March 21, 2018 - Best Buddies, a nonprofit that enhances the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing opportunities for socialization and employment, expects nearly 2,000 friends, business leaders, volunteers and Best Buddies to attend this years Friendship Walk.

Light breakfast fare will be available before the walk begins at 9:00 AM. A post-walk party with DJ John Boss at the zoo's Swan Pavilion will last from 10AM to 12PM. Employers, friends to the cause and Best Buddies new and old are all invited to join the walk and festivities. Both zoo admission and parking will be free to registrants. There is no minimum fundraising required, though individuals who raise $50 receive a complimentary Best Buddies Friendship Walk tee.

As in the past, the Friendship Walk is the number one walk in the country raising awareness and funds to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Since the walk's 2009 inception, over 80,000 participants in 46 cities have walked to raise awareness for inclusion, friendship, leadership, and opportunity for people with IDD.
