Spend spring break with Schaumburg Park District

From swimming and hiking to playing sports, there's so much to do on spring break.

Special spring break hours and programming include:

• Open swim, noon-8 p.m., March 26-28 and March 30 and noon-5 p.m., March 29 at The Water Works, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. Admission is $6 for youth residents ages 3-17, $8 for youth non-residents, $8 for adult residents and $10 for adult non-residents.

• Free Spring Break Showdown Open Gym Camp, 2-3 p.m., March 28-30 at Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way. Schedule includes Hot Shots Basketball, March 28 (ages 8-13); Nerf Battle, March 29, (ages 8-13); Survivor Dodgeball, March 30 (ages 8-16). Drop-in program-no registration required.

• Grounds and trails at Spring Valley are open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Spring Valley Nature Center exhibits and museum, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road, are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily. Bison's Bluff Nature Playground is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m., daily.
