Youth Symphony of DuPage to host auditions April 28

The Youth Symphony of DuPage audition registration is now open for the 2018-19 concert season.

The audition for the new member candidates will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at North Central College's Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. in Naperville.

Auditions are open to advanced middle and high school students along with talented younger musicians who play strings, winds, brass, or percussion with at least 3 years on their instrument with private instruction and playing with proficiency for advanced orchestral performance.

On Sunday, April 29, the symphony will be hosting its spring concert with special guest Rachel Barton Pine at 7:30 p.m. in the Wentz Concert Hall.

The concert will feature Antonio Vivaldi's "Spring" from "Four Seasons" and Ludwig van Beethoven's Romance for Violin and Orchestra No. 2 in F major, as well as music from German Max Bruch, Mikhail Glinka and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Tickets are $15. Visit www.ysdp.org.
