'Lean On Me: The Brotherhood of Rock and Roll' comes to ECC Arts Center April 7

On Saturday, April 7, the Elgin Community College Arts Center presents the national touring production of "Lean On Me: The Brotherhood of Rock and Roll" featuring Michael Ingersoll and Christopher Kale Jones, who both starred in "Jersey Boys" and "Under the Streetlamp."

The performance will be held at 7 p.m. at the ECC Arts Center located in Building H, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

This brand-new show presents a rousing evening of rock and soul anthems by The Righteous Brothers, Frankie Valli, Bill Withers, James Taylor, Ray Charles and many more.

Ingersoll reunites with former Frankie Valli character, Christopher Kale Jones, who he met as a castmate in the Broadway smash "Jersey Boys." The two pals further forged their musical bond while performing together for six years as members of America's favorite retro-rock sensation, "Under the Streetlamp."

While touring internationally, and starring together in four PBS "Under the Streetlamp" concert specials that aired in millions of homes nationwide, they found they both loved the same great songs of the American rock and soul catalog.

Ingersoll and Kale Jones take the passion and soul stemming from the music of the 1950s, '60s and '70s that so many people connect with, and pour it out into their performance. "Lean On Me" is presented by Artist Lounge Live.

Tickets for ECC Arts Center's national touring production of "Lean On Me" are $35.

Tickets are available online at tickets.elgin.edu or at the ECC Arts Center box office. Box office hours are noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
