Keller Jr. High Teachers Perform at the McTeacher's Night

Keller Jr. High held their second annual McTeacher's Night Fundraiser at the Hoffman Estates McDonald's on Roselle Road. A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales back to the local school. What an amazing night for Keller Jr. High!

On Thursday March 8, the restaurant was taken over by ten teachers and staff members excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families. Teachers also handed out orders, cleaned tables, served drinks, and even dressed up in an apple pie costume. Keller Jr. High staff members Lori McSweeney, Emily Gora, Erin Gunsteen and Jenifer Feilen all dressed in the Pie outfit and what a blast they had mingling with all the families and taking pictures. Principal Tom Barbini helped by selling delicious apple pies.

A special highlight of the event was when Keller Jr. High teachers Dave Gear, Dave Stephens, Dana Sorensen, Marty Edwards and Theodora Neofotistos traded in their chalk for a guitar, piano, microphone and drum set. The students and families were treated to an hour-long performance of amazing music! The students especially enjoyed singing along with Mrs. Sorensen!

The Keller Jr. High teachers worked hard selling delicious apple pies and singing for tips. The funds earned from the event will go directly to support the Keller PTA. The PTA plans to use the funds for Field Day, 8th-grade graduation celebrations and PBIS.

A special thank you goes to Keller Jr. High PTA member Jenny Cooper who organized the event as well as everyone who worked and attended.
