Prairie Jewish Youth to host 'Chocolate Seder' March 18

The Prairie Jewish Youth will host a "Chocolate Seder" from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at a residence in Geneva. It is open to fifth- to 12th-graders; non-Jewish friends are invited. To RSVP, visit prairiejewishyouth.weebly.com.

The Prairie Jewish Youth offers social, educational, and spiritual programming for Jewish youth in the Fox River Valley and surrounding Northern Illinois communities.

The Prairie Jewish Youth was created by the Prairie Jewish Coalition in 2013. Its goal is to bring together Jewish youth, fifth grade through high school, from the greater Illinois Fox Valley area by providing Jewish activities on a monthly basis.

Members are from Aurora, Geneva, St. Charles, South Elgin, Elgin, Bartlett, McHenry, Lake in the Hills and more.

Some participants are members of Congregation Am Chai in Hoffman Estates, Chabad in Elgin, Congregation Beth Shalom in DeKalb, Congregation Kneseth Israel in Elgin, Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors in Geneva, McHenry County Jewish Congregation in McHenry, Pushing the Envelope Farm in Geneva, and Temple B'nai Israel in Aurora. Some participants do not belong to any Jewish organization.

All Jewish children/teens are welcome. No affiliation is necessary.

The activities range from purely social, to social action, to religious.
