Jaycees to Entertain Kids with Easter Egg Hunt

The Palatine Jaycees will be entertaining local children up to nine years old on Saturday, April 20, starting at 11 a.m. with their annual Easter Egg Hunt at Oak Park, on the corners Clark Drive and Anderson Drive in Palatine.

"We will have 3,500 Easter Eggs filled with candy and prizes in the grassy area of Oak Park," said Jennifer Levin, chair of the project. "Children ages 0-9 are welcome to come hunt eggs." The event will end at 1:00 pm.

To add to the festivities, the Jaycees will also have the Easter Bunny attend the event. "Children will be able to have their pictures taken by their parents with the Easter Bunny for a small donation," said Levin.

Every year, the Palatine Jaycees conduct numerous programs to serve the community and accumulate funds for operation of the chapter and community events, grants and scholarships. Included in these projects are Hometown Fest (Fourth of July festival), Christmas tree sales, Easter Egg Hunt, STEM Fair and others that benefit the community.

The Palatine Chapter of the Jaycees has more than 130 members and is one of the largest of the 50 chapters throughout Illinois. The Jaycees give individuals ages 21 to 40 the opportunities to develop personal and leadership skills while serving their communities. The Palatine Chapter has been recognized locally and internationally for their efforts.

The Palatine Jaycees hold their monthly general meeting on the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 pm at Durty Nellies in Palatine. For further information on the Palatine Jaycees, membership or any of their sponsored events visit http://www.palatinejaycees.org, or email info@palatinejaycees.org.
