Learn about canoeing on the Fox at next Green Drinks meeting

The next McHenry County Green Drinks meeting will feature a program on "Kayaking & Canoeing on the Fox River" from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Duke's Alehouse & Kitchen, 110 N. Main St. in Crystal Lake.

Gary Swick, president of Friends of the Fox River, will share what paddlers will find when they get on the river, based on his many years traversing the Fox. Gary Mechanic, executive director of Friends of the Fox River, will discuss how to access the Fox River and how to go about planning your trip.

On the first Wednesday of each month, the public is invited to gather for a talk on an environmental/conservation issue and to network with other sustainably minded people and professionals.

Additional parking is available at the train station. To be added to the Green Drinks email list, send a note to GreenDrinksMC@gmail.com or "like" the group at www.facebook.com/GreenDrinksMcHenryCounty.
