'Speak Up!' Batavia library seeks input from residents March 1

The Batavia Public Library's second "Speak Up!" community engagement session will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in the cafeteria at Batavia High School, 1600 W. Main St.

Library district residents are invited and encouraged to attend the session to share their thoughts, suggestions, and desires for the library's future.

Longtime Batavia residents Kathryn Hubbard and Daniel Russo will serve as facilitators of the session.

During the March session, Lynn M. Elam, a professional librarian, Batavia resident, and former library trustee, will explore the future of libraries in terms of programs and services, space use, technology, and more. Elam's talk will be followed by small group discussions among district residents. RSVP (not required) at bit.ly/speakup-rsvp.

Subsequent Community Engagement sessions will be held at the high school on April 12 and May 10. At the April session, the library will share financial information about the library, its operations and services, and its building and campus. The May session will ask the key question, "Did we hear you correctly?"
