Library Announces Care Kit Collection and Packing

The Schaumburg Library will collect five types of personal care items to be placed in care kits for the food pantries in School District 54, as well as the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry. The collection will run from Monday, Feb. 26 through Thursday, March 22 at all three library locations in Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates and Hanover Park.

Library patrons of all ages are invited to pack up the items from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 24 in Workshop on first floor of the Central Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg.

At the packing event, volunteers will fill zip lock bags with of one of each item on the list. Items to be collected are: full-size toothpaste, toothbrushes (single or two-packs), wet wipes soft packs of 25-50, combs and full-size deodorant. Packers will also have the opportunity to decorate encouraging cards to include in the bags.
