Wauconda Community Shares Valentine's Day Dinner at Meals for All

On Wednesday, February 14, 75 members of the local Wauconda Community celebrated Valentine's Day at Meals for All.

Estefany Garcia, a sophomore at WHS, commented "it is really fun [to help at Meals for All]. You get to make friends with people in the community".

Garcia also is working on a Community Service Project called "Blankets 4 Hope" and is donating blankets to Wauconda Grade School students, as well as senior citizens. Along with giving them a blanket, Garcia gave Valentine's Day meals to the elderly citizens in the community. Garcia said of the experience: "They were very happy and that made us happy." "These ppl ..were very grateful to have the blankets" noted Sam Bianco, Wauconda FBLA Vice President. She added, "[Meals for All] was a really cool atmosphere because it was a holiday."

Wauconda FBLA is looking forward to returning to the American Legion in March for a St. Patrick's Meals for All sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce with dessert sponsored by the Wauconda High School Culinary Arts Club.
