Satisfy your sweet tooth at Sugar Bush Fair

Stack your plate with pancakes, connect with nature and learn a little history during Schaumburg Park District's annual celebration of maple syrup.

Sugar Bush Fair, sponsored by Davey Tree, is set for 9 a.m. to noon, March 17 and 18 at Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road.

An outdoor pancake breakfast, complete with real maple syrup, sausage, juice and coffee will be served in a tent outside Merkle Cabin.

"Sugar Bush Fair is a pancake breakfast unlike any other," said Dave Brooks, manager of conservation services for Spring Valley. "There's nothing like eating fresh-off-the-griddle pancakes topped with authentic maple syrup while surrounded by nature."

The event features demonstrations of maple syrup production, a pioneer sugar camp, children's puppet show and a hay ride. Dress for the weather. Transportation will be provided between the Nature Center and Merkle Cabin.

Cost to the fair is free. Tickets are required for breakfast and available for purchase at the Nature Center. Pre-sale tickets are $4 for half stack and $6 for full stack. Day-of prices are $5 for half stack and $7 for full stack.
